INSTITUTIONAL PREPAREDNESS FOR NEP:

  1. Multidisciplinary / Interdisciplinary:

Our college is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, for two programs, that is, Bachelor of Arts (B.A) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). University of Mumbai has implemented Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) from the Academic Year 2016-17, Which is Multidisciplinary / Interdisciplinary. The curriculum prescribed by the University incorporates following courses, which are Multidisciplinary/Interdisciplinary:

  1. Elective Courses (EC)
  2. Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AEC)
  3. Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC)
  4. Core Courses

College has conducted Value Added Courses like Basic Tally, Advanced Excel etc for the students, to enhance their employability.In addition to this, students also studies about the Environment Sustainability, Gender Equity, and Professional Ethics.

As per the guidelines of NEP the college is prepared to enrich its teaching-learning process by incorporating Multi-disciplinary /Interdisciplinary aspects.

  • Academic Bank of Credit:

Academic Bank of Credit is the soul of National Education Policy. It is a repository of credits accumulated by students at various stages of their Academic journey at the UG and PG level. The repository will facilitate movement of students from one discipline to other discipline, from one institution to other institution and from one course to other course. The student will also have a convenience of multiple entries and multiple exits. The Academic Bank of Credit is typically administered by a central authority or organisation, which maintains records of student credits and helps to facilitate the transfer of those credits between institutions.

The College is well aware that ABC Framework is the core of the National Education Policy and therefore, our teachers have given the idea the same to the students also. College has also initiated a drive where we guided students to open their account on ABC Portal. College has organised a seminar on “Awareness and Use of Digi Locker” in the Academic Year. Such seminar has helped and facilitated students to register on the ABC Portal. Almost 40% of the College students have already downloaded digilocker and registered on the ABC portal.

  • Skill Development:

Skill development as per the National Skill Qualifications Framework (NSQF) is an essential component of higher education system, as it helps

students develop the practical skills they need to succeed in their careers. The College offers several skills orientated certificate courses to develop

employment skills and provide job opportunities to the students.

College had offered and also proposes to offer courses like Hair Style and Bridal Make Up to Girls Students to enhance their skills so that they can become self-dependent. College also proposes to offer specialized training programmes like Basic Tally and Advanced Excel to enhance their employability skills.College had also condcuted a course in “Brahmi Script” to make them aware and expertise in this ancient script.

The College also proposes to develop entrepreneurial skills of the students by conducting workshops and seminars. Under the National Education Policy, the College proposes to enter into formal MOUs with industries in the vicinity to provide job opportunities to students on their graduation.

  • Appropriate integration of Indian Knowledge system (teaching in Indian Language, culture,using online course):

College is promoting local language as we have Bachelor of Arts program in local language, that is Marathi. We have also have Specialiezed subject as “History” in third year of Bachelor of Arts. Also being having Specialized subject as “History”,  curriculam presribes the culture and knowledge of ancient India as well as Maharshtra.

College also choosed “Marathi” as one of the “Skill Enhancement” subject in First Year B.A. We have also entered into a MoU with Langauge Experts to conduct certificate courses in that langauge.

The college has signed MOU with Ambika Yog Kutir, for conducting Yoga Practices on Friday of every week for college students. College celebrates cultural days like  Aashadi Ekadashi and Birth Anniversary of Great Indian Leaders like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Jotiba Phule etc. every year. College also celebrates philanthropic days like Independence Day, Maharashtra Day & Republic Day.

  • Focus on Outcome based Education:

Outcome-based education (OBE) is a key feature of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020. As per the NEP, it aims to shift the focus of education from traditional learning to the development of skills, knowledge, and competitiveness that are relevant to students’ future careers.

OBE will be used to measure students’ development and to ensure that they have achieved the desired learning outcomes. This means that evaluation will focus on assessing students’ ability to apply their knowledge in real-life, rather than just their ability to memorize and recollect information.

The syllabus along with the program and course outcomes are communicated to students. Attainment of COs is measured on the basis of the performance of students in their examinations. The College will implement OBE system as per the framework prepared by the University of Mumbai.

  • Distance Education / Online Education:

The prime aim behind establishing Colloge was to provide Higher Educational facilities to the youth of the economically backward and unpreviledged sections of the society. College has conducted online lectures through software likes Google Meet and Zoom. Study Material and notes were provided by online mode through Emails and WhatsApp. Examanitions and Evaluations were also conducted through online mode via Google Forms in COVID-19 situations.
