Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Educational Society, Ulhasnagar is one of the renowned Educational Society registered under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. The Society is having presence of almost 60 years in Ulhasnagar City. The Society was founded by Late Shri.Ramchandra Keshvrao Abhang and Late Sau. Sulochana Ramchandra Abhang in the year 1965, inspired by first Mayor of Pune Late Shri. Baburao Sanas. Presently, Trust has Aided Primary and Secondary School and Unaided Private Junior and Degree College under it’s Management. The founder Late Shri.Ramchandra Keshavrao Abhang was teacher at Pune. Later, He became Principal on the Trust’s School “Saraswati Vidya Mandir”. Late Sau Sulochana Ramchandra Abhang was retired as Gazetted Officer of Government of Maharashtra. She was working as Suprintedent on the Refugee Camp of 450 womens, who were relocated from Pakistan after the Independence.

Late Shri Ramchandra Keshavrao Abhang and Late Sau Sulochana Ramchandra Abhang relocated from Pune to Ulhasnagar, after the Order of Appointment received from Government to work as Suprintendent on the Refugee Camp. That time, there were no educational facility available for the poor and unprevilged students.

Looking after the need of having school for such neglected sector of society, they both decided to open a Primary school with a view to impart education to the poor class and underprivileged pupils of the society. Shri Chhatrapti Shivaji Educational Society’s Late Sau S R Abhang Memorial College of Arts & Commerce, Affiliated to the University of Mumbai, was established in the year 2006 under the auspices of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Educational Society, by President Mr.Sanjay Ramchandra Abhang. Name of the college is a tribute to the Founder of the Trust Late Sau Sulochana Ramchandra Abhang. She was a Social Worker and Academician.
